Training & Performance
Aura Alden discovered her passion for singing at age 11 in her school choir. She began studying classical voice with Connie Goodwin and, by age 15, was performing and placing competitively in classical voice competitions.

She continued her studies at Texas State University, earning a degree in vocal performance with a focus in opera theatre. There, she studied privately with Ron Ulen, a renowned baritone celebrated for his portrayals of characters such as "Bluebeard" in Béla Bartók’s Bluebeard’s Castle across opera houses in Germany, and was mentored by Opera Director, Dr. Marc Reynolds, from whom she gained invaluable experience in staging and expressive performance. During her time at university, Aura discovered her passion for vocal anatomy and pedagogy under the guidance of Dr. Richard Novak, who profoundly shaped her approach to teaching and inspired her to integrate scientific understanding with technique in her instruction.

As a performer, Aura has played leading roles including "Adina" in Donizetti's L'elisir d’amore, "Pamina" and "Papagena" in Mozart's Die Zauberflöte, and "Juliette" in Gounod’s Romeo et Juliette. She has performed with the Texas State Opera Theatre, San Antonio Alamo Opera Company, Houston Symphony, Austin Symphony, and several regional theatre companies.

Today, Aura focuses on vocal instruction, helping students of all ages develop healthy, powerful, and expressive voices by combining her professional performance experience with a deep understanding of vocal science and technique.
